Oct 6 2009	History/Geography Year 3 Our humanities topic this Autumn term has been based on our own locality. We have been finding out about what life was like many years ago. We also found out about famous or well liked buildings and people from Whickham's past. Do you know where the old toll house is? Who was Henry Clasper? Why was Lang Jack popular? and what happened at the pink house each Sunday? Just ask us and we'll let you know. Oct 21 2008	Science - Year 3 We all now know what makes a healthy balanced diet. We have been learning about the importance of proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. We also know that too much fat and sugar is not good for us. Look at our healthy meals and packed lunches - delicious!
Oct 21 2008	Work Experience Year 3 enjoyed having one of Clover Hill's old pupils with us last week. Lauren came back to spend her work experience with us in year 3. She helped us design these symmetrical T-shirts in our maths lesson. Thank you Lauren!
Oct 21 2008	Year 3 - Reading Workshops We start each day with a reading workshop. We all spend 20 minutes on a fun reading task. We love the games and activities and all work hard to improve our own reading. We are getting really whizzy at finding words in a dictionary, using a thesaurus, solving clues in puzzles and spotting words in wordsearches. We also read our group reading books with Mrs Rogerson and practice our key words with Mrs Greenslade. Reading is fun!
